Sanitary Stainless Steel Welder

Summary:
Maratek is looking for a Sanitary SS Welder to join our team.  The purpose of the Stainless Steel Sanitary TIG Welder / Fitter will be to provide on-site services including but not limited to fabrication, assembling, and installation of sanitary piping on industrial equipment using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools. 

We look for the following in candidates:

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine piping requirements.
• Can read and work with detailed drawings to fabricate pipes and tanks to a high degree of precision.
• Select type and size of pipe required. Calculate, measure, cut, pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.
• Attention to detail and must be able to perform stainless steel welding functions at an acceptable standard level
• Fabrication and installation of various piping and tanks for equipment.
• Layout, position, align, and secure pipes and tanks prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers
• Knowledge of material sizes and stainless-steel specification of the product being worked on

Skills

• Need to have enough skills and experience that your welds look like works of art.
• Must be capable of working under minimum supervision
• Must work well with others.
• Can effectively communicate in both technical and user-friendly language, with all staff.
• Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safe culture

Job Requirements

• Graduate of a College level welding program
• Current or previous CWB certifications in TIG welding - stainless preferred
• Experience in sanitary welding /fitting and equipment installation
• 5 – 10 years experience as a sanitary TIG welder
• 5 or more years experience finishing stainless steel
• Food and beverage equipment manufacturing is desired
• Experience as a team leader is an asset

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work with hand tools and power tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods and work under various temperature conditions

Quarterly Profit Sharing

• Maratek shares 10% of the Net Profit with all the employees on a quarterly basis aligned to the Profit Sharing Policy.

Share Ownership

• After one full year of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the company’s Share Ownership Plan. Employees get $5,000 of free shares at the end of one year of employment.

We are located in Bolton, Ontario and the public transit system is poor, the candidate should ideally have a vehicle.
