Transformer Oil Regeneration System (TORS)

Maratek’s Transformer Oil Recycling System (TORS) is designed to treat the insulating oils used in high voltage transformers and switch-gears. It encompasses the latest technological innovations yielding extraordinary performance without sacrificing environmental standards.

A unique feature of the TORS is the reactivation system of the activated media. The reactivation is accomplished without interrupting the purification or regeneration process. TORS may be used to treat oils "In situ" with live transformers, or in the plant, and can be designed to customer specifications.

  1. Entering oils – 100 PPM per weight water content & 12% per volume of air at 20 C. Acidity 0.2 mg /KOH/g.
  2. 1 lb. of FE will reduce the acidity to accepted norms. (0.05 mgKOH/g of 5 gallons).
  3. 1 lb. of activated Alumina will reduce the acidity level to accepted norms. (0.05mgKOH/g of 20 gallons).
  4. 3000 lbs. of FE will treat 15 000 gallons of insulating oils before reactivation, based on oil entering at 0.2 mgKOH/g.
  5. 3000 lbs. of activated Alumina will reduce the acidity level to accepted norms of 60 000 gallons of insulating oil.
